Frida inspires me as an artist because she was self- taught and turned her pain into beauty. In her work, roots symbolized both growth and feeling trapped, while trees stood for hope. Despite her struggles, she painted with vibrant color.
I see her influence in The Red Lady.-a self- portrait that's both dark and vibrant. The leaves I use represent renewal, hope, and revival.
