ARTSIT PROFILE

Aida Beshah is an Atlanta based, Ethiopian born self-taught mixed-media artist whose work explores identity, heritage, resilience, memory, and the complex experiences of women and families. Her practice combines graphite, charcoal, ink, acrylic, pastel, color pencil, and collage to create expressive, layered figures that often incorporate elongated forms, fragmented imagery, and recurring circular lines. Drawing from Ethiopian heritage, personal experience, nature, and the emotional complexities of belonging, Aida creates work that examines both vulnerability and strength.

Her evolving practice has moved from primary acrylic painting toward a more intuitive mixed-media process, allowing greater control over line, texture, layering, and personal narrative.
